Chat Commands

You can control Wishmaster by typing in local chat. Commands go on channel /9, so the people around you don't see them. Only the owner of the HUD can command it.

New to chat commands?

Press Enter, type the command, and press Enter again. Second Life Basics shows how, and how to put a command on a shortcut key with a gesture.

Cast a spell

Type the spell name, then an optional target and an optional variant:

/9 spell target variant

Type in local chat
/9 bless torley
/9 teleport torley shadow
/9 astral
  • Short names work. /9 expl dum casts Explosion on an avatar in the region whose name starts with "dum". /9 tele tor ener teleports you to "Torley" with the Energize effect.
  • No target? Wishmaster asks you to choose one.
  • Spell names are the names on the HUD buttons, typed in lowercase.
  • Elemental spells: type the element as the spell and the elemental spell as the variant. /9 elec dumb strike casts Strike (Electricity) on "Dumb…". Some elementals then need the mouse to charge or aim.
  • "Error - Invalid Spell or Target" means Wishmaster could not find a spell with that name. Check the spelling.

Spells

Command What it does
/9 dispel Ends all magic you have cast in the region.

The HUD

Command What it does
/9 hud size small Makes the HUD smaller.
/9 hud size large Makes the HUD bigger.
/9 hud size 0.4 Sets an exact size, from 0.1 (tiny) to 1 (very large). The normal size is 0.33.
/9 hud size medium Back to the normal size. (Any word other than small or large does this.)
/9 hud lockpos Keeps the HUD where you have placed it, instead of snapping to a corner. Move it first with Edit. /9 hud savepos does the same.
/9 hud reset Puts the HUD back in its corner.
/9 hud channel 4 Changes the command channel. After this example, you type /4 dispel instead of /9 dispel. Use any whole number above 0.

Changed the channel and forgot it?

Wishmaster tells you the current channel each time you change it. If you have forgotten, try /9 first, then the numbers you usually use.

Help and information

Command What it does
/9 help Opens this manual in your web browser.
/9 notecard Gives you the help notecard instead.
/9 changes Opens the Wishmaster changelog.
/9 discord Offers an invite to the Arcanum Discord, for live help and news.
/9 status Checks every script in the HUD and restarts any that have stopped. Try this if the HUD stops responding.
/9 disable-info Hides the HUD's info message until the HUD is reset.
/9 enable-info Shows the info message again.
